The SoPhTec® Model C-500 Water Conditioner is designed to deal with the problems associated with the formation of calcium scale. The product is intended for use in homes and on small individual pieces of commercial equipment such as dishwashers, steam tables, coffee makers, or ice makers. It is intended for installation on PVC, copper, or other pipes with an outside diameter of 1/2" to 1 1/2". Any application of the product for other than the control of calcium scale or in other than the aforementioned applications is at the discretion and risk of the user. This product does not remove calcium from the water. The Model C-500 causes a transformation of the calcium which causes it to lose its ability to adhere to surfaces such as pipes, heat exchangers, etc. Other benefits may occur such as improved sudsing of soaps and shampoos and softer feeling skin. These will vary from site to site and application to application.

For residential use attach the Model C-500 to the cold-water supply line where it enters the house and ahead of hose bibs or sprinklers. It is highly recommended that for maximum results a second unit, the SoPhTec® Model C-250 be installed on the outlet (hot-water) line from the water heater. (This combination constitutes the SoPhTec® Home Water-Conditioning System.)

On commercial equipment applications the Model C-500 should be installed on the hot- or cold-water line(s) to the equipment, as close to the equipment as possible. Do not install on hot-water lines which exceed 180° F or on steam lines.
